First of all, it contains the most serviceable first position studies from each of Wohlfahrt's five books ("Op. 45 Nos. I and II", "54", and "74 Nos. I and II"). Their grade of difficulty, style, etc. is re-arranged to maintain a more logical relationship. Secondly, only the studies that are of the greatest importance are included. Third, a more thorough and consistent system of fingering and bowing is provided. This plan, faithfully followed, will save the student valuable time and a great deal of wasted effort.
