John Corigliano - Snapshot: Circa 1909

17 pages, Item number 1800131DU, $16.95

This string quartet was inspired by a photo of Corigliano's father playing a violin and his uncle playing the guitar. At the time of the photo, his father, John Corigliano was about eight years old. The serious looking child violinist grew up to become the concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic for over a quarter century, and the inspiration for this beautiful piece of music. It was commissioned by the Elements String Quartet and premiered in November 2003 at Merkin Concert Hall in New York City. Now your string quartet can play it, too.

Hans Sitt - Etudes, Book Two - Violin Instruction Book
19 pages, Item number 1450466DU, $6.95

This book includes twenty etudes in the second, third, fourth, and fifth positions. These etudes come to us from Hans Sitt, a famous composer who lived from 1850 - 1922. These etudes will challenge intermediate violinists and help them build endurance, skill, and smoothness when moving from position to position. Changing positions on the violin during a work is a skill that takes time to develop. Our method book will work on that skill and help you get to the next level of playing.
