The book features short songs and etudes, which are used to learn new notes, rhythms and styles, as well as to reinforce the previously-learned material. There are also several ensemble arrangement songs, in addition to a concert piece (with piano accompaniment included) and two like-instrument duets. Add all of this music to short lessons on music history and music theory, include a fingering chart, throw in a CD that provides accompaniments for lessons 1 - 71, and you have a book that is clearly the best in its class. We recommend this book (and the optional 2 CD set which accompanies lessons 72 to the end of the book) for all beginning instrumentalists, regardless of age.
